LOT Users Meeting
This workshop is dedicated to current and future users of the Lulin Observatory 1-meter telescope and the upcoming 2-meter telescope in Mexico. It will explore the diverse scientific contributions of small telescopes and how they can complement larger facilities to advance astronomical research.
Workshop Goals
Participants will:
- Learn about the unique capabilities and scientific potential of small telescopes.
- Explore strategies to maximize the impact of observations from telescopes under 2 meters.
- Network with fellow researchers to initiate collaborations using Lulin and future facilities.
Workshop Topics
- The Science Potential of Small Telescopes: Past Achievements and Future Directions
- Optimizing Observing Strategies for Small Telescopes
- Small Telescope Contributions to Time-Domain Astronomy
- Monitoring Variable Stars and Exoplanet Transits
- Near-Earth Object (NEO) Detection and Follow-up Observations
- Using Small Telescopes for Stellar and Galactic Studies
- Integration of Small Telescopes into Multi-Wavelength Observing Campaigns
- Building Synergies Between Small and Large Observatories
