Forum on the National Astronomical Observatory & TARA Booth

The 2025 Taiwan Physics Annual Meeting & NSTC Project Achievement Presentation was successfully held at National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung from January 14 to 16.

During the conference, the Taiwan astronomy community organized the “Forum on the National Astronomical Observatory”. Professor Wen-Ping Chen (Graduate Institute of Astronomy, NCU), the principal investigator of the Taiwan Astronomy Research Alliance (TARA) project, presented the project achievements. Additionally, three newly appointed scientists reported on their work progress and plans, covering ALMA, Adaptive Optics (AO), and the Two-Meter Telescope project. Furthermore, Dr. Chian-Chou Chen (ASIAA) presented and led discussions on the National Observatory White Paper, which is expected to be finalized by a dedicated working group within the next two years.

During the conference, TARA also hosted an exhibition booth to introduce the organization and its related projects. Promotional materials and souvenirs were distributed to enhance visibility and increase awareness within the academic community about TARA’s initiatives.

國家天文台建置討論與TARA展示攤位

2025台灣物理年會暨國家科學及技術委員會計畫成果發表會於1月14日至16日在高雄中山大學成功舉辦。

在本次年會中，台灣天文學界舉辦了「國家天文台建置討論論壇」。台灣天文研究聯盟計畫主持人陳文屏教授（中央大學天文所）報告了計畫成果，並由三位新聘科學家報告各自的工作進度與規劃，涵蓋ALMA、調適光學、以及兩米望遠鏡計畫。此外，中研院天文所陳建州副研究員報告了國家天文台白皮書的相關事項與討論，並預計在兩年內由工作小組提出完整白皮書。

會議期間，台灣天文研究聯盟亦設置攤位，向學界介紹本組織及相關計畫，並製作精美紀念品進行宣傳，以提升知名度及促進學界對台灣天文研究聯盟的了解。
