tara_staff@astro.ncu.edu.tw

2026 TARA Summer Student Program – Applications Now Open!

We are excited to offer 16 research projects (20 students) this year for students interested in astronomy. Successful applicants will be paired with a research topic and advisor of their choice and will participate in a two-month research program from July 1 to August 31, 2026. The monthly stipend is NTD 20,000 (the August stipend is subject to the approval of new funding).

In addition to conducting research at the host institution, students will join specialized courses taught by faculty from different universities and have the opportunity to exchange research experiences with their peers. During the first inter-university campus visit (around mid-July), each student is required to give a brief presentation introducing their research project. At the end of the program, each student will give a 15–20 minute final presentation and submit a written report summarizing their research results.

Eligibility
Applications are open only to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and first-year master’s students. Applicants must confirm their enrollment at a Taiwan university or college during the program period (March–October 2026). Taiwanese students currently studying overseas, or international students visiting Taiwan, may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must participate fully in the two-month program and all inter-university activities.

How to Apply
Students must complete the application form (PDF format only) and submit it via email to:
tara_staff@astro.ncu.edu.tw by Friday, March 30, 2026.

Application Form: Word/PDF
Applicants should specify their preferred research projects and provide the names of up to two referees. The list of accepted students will be announced in mid to late April. Details of the research projects can be found in the table below.
